Modern Macrame Wall Art
Hand Made in San Miguel de Allende Mexico 100% cotton
size and styles vary
Artisan: Victoria Trejo Merida, originally from the Northern Sierra of Puebla. She now resides in San Miguel de Allende. Along with her daughter and husband they make these handmade macrame pieces. They are made from 100% cotton threads. To give it a structured finish they use the saliva from the nopal (cactus) to starch it. Each individual piece takes hours and even days to complete depending on the size and design. You can now purchase these beautiful pieces individually or inquire via email at arlette@casalette.com if you are interested in creating a custom made design.
To preserve your art you can use clothing starch and use a dog brush to groom your piece and maintain its structure. Change in color may happen due to climate and aging.
